ROZ VIEW: DNSReport.com (lookup)

What is DNSReport.com?

-- Quote from their webpage --
This site will provide you with a DNS report for your domain. A very large percentage of domains have DNS problems; this site will help you find those problems and fix them. Also, the "Mail Test" tool will help find mail delivery problems for your domain. This site is a sister site to www.DNSstuff.com, which has many other DNS and networking tools.

For the DNS Report, all you need to do is enter the domain name you wish to have the report made for. You need to enter the domain name ("example.com"), not the host name ("www.example.com"). Note that IP addresses don't work here. Also, the DNS report may connect to the mail server(s) for your domain; if it does, the mail server(s) will have access to your IP in their logs (to help prevent abuse).
-- End Quote from their webpage --

What a find...

Earlier today I had to -- quite unexpectedly -- change the DNS of my website. This came at a more than inappropriate time of the year, however, my host was so well organized that it went without a hitch! To convince me that all was well... He brought me to DNSReport.com to show me that the DNS change went through almost instantly, at least in our area.

ROZ SAYS: New York City Transit Strike, What Next!

Well they did it, the New York City Transit Authority went out on strike, crippling the entire city. I can't even imagine what will happen this time.

In years of old the strikes were very different. Either the Buses and Trains went out on strike or the Express Buses did. This time the City owns them all, so it is anyone's guess what will happen.

I remember standing on long lines waiting to get on the Express Bus as all the train riders opted to take the Express Bus when the City Trains and Busses went on strike. When the Express Buses went on strike we took a van into Manhattan. I remember one time, the Express Buses went on strike. My friend across the hall and I went to Manhattan together. I remember this like it was yesterday, as she did not want to take the Vans. I agreed to go on the train with her. We got on a train that seemed to have “white” windows. The windows were painted white! It did not occur to me at the time. We went in and sat down...

A short while later the train stopped dead! “I” thought we were still on the outside, however, it did not take long to realize we were stopped dead in a dark tunnel -- underground! This is not one of my favorite things. Years earlier when we only had the trains to go into Manhattan I got stuck on a train -- underground -- for 3 1/2 hours. Yes, I remember that too, but in those days there was no other way to go to work, so the very next day I was back on the train! Things are quite different now!

After sitting underground for a good while, with the conductor saying something like: “We will be starting up in a few moments, or something else non specific... I said: “IF we get out of her, I WILL be taking the Van the next day, and I did. My friend went right along with me this time... There was no way I was going on another train! With the windows painted white I felt like I was in a tomb!

It will be interesting to see IF the Express Buses strike with them as this time, the City owns it all -- the trains, the city buses and the private buses that are no longer private!

On the good side, I do not have to go anyplace using public transportation that I can't walk to. But I worry, how is this going to affect public safety as the first responders will have difficulty getting where they need to go!

Roz VIEW: Anthony Robbins Holiday Message

As always Tony Robbins sent a note of inspiration and motivation for the holiday season. Tony has to be one of the most generous and caring individuals I have come across to date. He NEVER forgets where he came from or those who have not reached the top yet. (Too bad everyone does not follow his liead!)

At this time I am going through some really heavy challenges, however...

Tony taught me something priceless, something I forgot — to be grateful and giving daily! It is not hard to realize how rich we really are (perhaps not in dollars), but money is not everything! When we take the time to look at other's challenges, I believe it becomes easier to see how blessed we really are!

ROZ VIEW: NAPP Auction Helps Hurricane Victims

Subject: NAPP Hurricane Charity Auction Launches

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
HURRICANE CHARITY ART AUCTION SPONSORED BY THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF PHOTOSHOP PROFESSIONALS LAUNCHES
Over 40 signed fine art prints from well-known artists are up for bid

Tampa, Fla. – Dec. 6, 2006 – For many people, this is the season for giving and receiving. So it seems like an excellent time to do a little of both. Until December 12, art lovers can bid on wonderful photography, illustrations and even a commission from a famous portrait artist at an auction hosted by the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP) www.photoshopuser.com/auction. All the money raised through this auction will go to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund and the Salvation Army to help those who have been devastated by the horrible hurricanes this year.

For many people, an original print from legendary photographers and artists like Moose Peterson, Bert Monroy or Vincent Versace is beyond reach. However, thanks to the charitable donations of these gifted artists, artwork that usually sells for thousands of dollars will be available to bidders with starting prices as low as $100. By going to the auction and bidding, anyone can have the chance to donate to an incredibly worthy charity, gain a wonderful art print that they can cherish for the rest of their life, and get a nice tax deduction in the bargain. All the prints are unframed and range in size from 13” X 19” to 24” X 28”. For more information, go to
http://www.photoshopuser.com/auction.

About NAPP The National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP) is a dynamic, accredited trade association that serves the needs of the photography and digital graphics industry. ROZ VIEW: RoboForms by Siber Systems

Sometimes it is hard enough to remember who I am, let alone remember all the usernames and passwords assigned to me all over the web for one thing or another. The best are the crazy usernames and/or passwords full of letters and numbers that are created with no rhyme or reason -- one would have to be a genius to remember them.

A friend of mine has been singing Siber Systems RoboForms praises for years. "FINALLY" less than a month ago I downloaded it and gave it a trial run. EXCELLENT!!!

I have not used all its features yet, but... I can tell you, in the two weeks I used the program (before purchasing it a couple of hours ago) it was a pleasure traveling around the web from one site to the other. The best feature I found so far was that you can actually print out the usernames and passwords to have a hard copy to file elsewhere. What I got was more than I could have ever expected. The printed sheet was divided into two columns and each of the columns were divded into boxes. Each box contained the name of the site, the username and password associated with it.

From what I understand it also fills in forms, but I have not gotten that far.

Don't wait... Give it a trial run at:
http://www.roboform.com/ You'll be as hooked as I was.

AND... when you use the trial version of RoboForms you will be pleased to see there are NO ADS, NO POPUPS, NO NOTHING!!! What you will find is a *fully functioning, working program* to try out and enjoy!

ROZ SAYS: December 1, A New Day, A New Beginning

It us funny how things work out sometimes... Feeling this way today, December 1, 2005 -- The first day of the last month of the year.

I have been giving my life a great deal of thought the last couple of months. It's funny... making a difference in other's lives does not always serve us. I AM talking about those times when we give so much of ourselves that it becomes detrimental to our own lives, health and well being. I am NOT talking about the times we help others out in a selfless manner, only wishing to be there for them in their time(s) of need. The two are QUITE different!

Like many others... I have been going through some changes and challenges in my life -- some my own fault, some created by outside forces -- however, it never occurred to me how much it was affecting me until I made an unexpected visit to my doctor and found my blood pressure was elevated. That elevation will come down, but it was a "wake-up" call for me. It was enough to make me sit up and take notice! I like me, I DO NOT want to do anything that will hurt me to the point of irreparable damage to my health!

Last night I went to bed a bit earlier and therefore started my day at 5AM. I was astounded how much I got down in the first two hours of the day FOR ME! Things like taking some spiritual time while cleaning the house. As well... I have fallen behind on some obligations and this makes me unhappy because I AM a person of my word.

The point of me sharing this is that it might make a difference to someone reading it and make them wake up before it is too late. WE are ONLY human beings. We CAN ONLY do so much. This multi-tasking thing is NOT ALWAYS what it is cracked up to be... UNLESS we do it in moderation and in a structured way. Routines are good! Rules are good! Having fun is good! Being good to YOURSELF ... IS ... even better! REMEMBER... Time is irreplaceable... Life only comes around ONCE!
That's it for now... I am off to see what else I can do before I tire myself out with all this "new found energy and wisdom! Normally I am not one of those who do things in moderation so this is something that will take my entire focus to achieve!

For daily inspiration surf on over to Joyce Meyer's site. It really does not matter what ethnicity you are as Joyce's message is for everyone. Her messages are uplifting and motivational and applies to each and everyone of us. Visit:
