STARTING NOVEMBER 1 — 25 Days of Grateful...

25 Days of Grateful!

For me and many the upcoming holiday season is greeted with an array of mixed emotions.

It occurred to me about 2 minutes ago, I could possibly make a small difference in someone else's life if I shared “at least one” of the many things I am grateful for on a daily basis. So, for the 25 days “until” Thanksgiving, Thursday November 25, 2004 I will be doing just that.

MY OBJECTIVE: To demonstrate how “even at the bleakest of times” there is always something to be grateful for!

NOTE: Although I was never really ungrateful, I became more grateful and pay tribute to it on a daily basis since I was introduced to the Anthony Robbins programs last May 2003. Tony is big on being grateful and his programs taught me to be as well. I have probably experienced my happiest times in the last 18 months because of a tiny ritual I do upon waking most days — it is rarely done later in the day — because it is easier to “build on success!”

THE PAIN OF IT ALL!

Almost 20-years ago I lost my very best friend a few days before Thanksgiving. Due to the pain, to this day... I have never been able to memorialize her existence except for the tribute which appears on my Thanksgiving Day holiday website.

Thanksgiving in CyberSpace
http://www.CyberSpaceHolidays.com/thanksgiving/

Some of us never experienced “unconditional friendship.” I have been twice blessed with this type of friendship. If nothing else... that is... something to be grateful for! It has made me a better and more compassionate person!

Prior to her passing I spent most Thanksgivings and Christmases with Pat and her family. It was a given and after she was gone I took to vacationing during the Christmas weekend. As time passed and wounds began to heal I stopped hiding in the holiday trips and just luxuriated in the warm memories of holidays past!

I hope my little project will help and encourage those of you who are feeling blue during the upcoming holiday season to look deep within yourselves for what you just might feel should come from others! It is not easy and it takes work, but it is “A FREE” gift we can give ourselves — NO STRINGS ATTACHED!

DON'T FORGET... To Turn “Back” The Clocks!

SHORTER DAYS... are HERE AGAIN!

Don't forget to turn “BACK” the clocks tonight at 2AM.

The good part is that we get “AN EXTRA” hour of sleep tomorrow morning, OR... an extra hour to do something fun!

Enjoy! Don't waste it!

IT'S HERE!!! Movable Type 3 Bible...

My Movable Type 3 Bible arrived today from John Wiley for review. I almost kissed the UPS guy when he handed it to me! (I was waiting literally months for its publication!)

Movable Type 3 Bible Desktop Edition
Author: Rogers Cadenhead
Paperback: 432 pages
Publisher: John John Wiley & Sons
ISBN: 0764573888

Purchase / Save $8.00

NOTE: You might have to back order. It should be shipping any day now. Mine is a review copy and just arrived less than 24 hours ago. IF you are really interested don't let this stop you from ordering.

At first glance it is a cute sight, easy to handle and take with you for reading away from the computer... unlike most of the other phone-book size Bible Books I own.

The index is logical for finding what you need right away. It is written in easy to understand verbiage and is sprinkled with lots of “readable” screen shots and examples. For example: There was a section on how the date could appear on the bottom of each Movable Type Blog entry. After a generous description and explanation of how this can be done, there was an actual example of how the date would appear using a particular set of codes. (I realize you would expect this in a book, but I have seen some that do not do it. Leaving you more bewildered when trying to archive a particular function.)

I will be spending some time with this book over the weekend and will get back to you sometime next week, or before. There are certain things that I am interested in and hopefully will find them easily within the covers of this book... Right now I am reading on how to rid myself of SPAM in the Comment Section of the Movable Type 3 Bible Desktop Edition.

Stay tuned for more...

For those who would like one of their very own, here is a link to purchase. Amazon is selling at a 32% discount which make the book even more delightful. It's a fabulous gift for those either using Movable Type already or contemplating Web Blogging.

Remedy for Momentary Discouragement...

Earlier Wednesday evening I had a momentary lapse into discouragement. Since I don't indulge myself with such luxuries, I decided to do something I enjoy — probably more than anything else — Designing eCards for my Judaic eCard Club...

Graphics Schmaphics Exclusive Judaic Greetings Club
http://www.GraphicsSchmaphicsExclusive.com

Hours later, I can hardly keep my eyes open, but I now have... new cards for the Hanukkah collection as well as Birthdays, Encouragement, Thanksgiving and Love. Tired and satisfied, I will now attempt to catch a few hours sleep before I am back here again to finish up the holiday collection.

Surf on over and have a look! The site is NOT only for Jewish individuals, but anyone who has a need to send Judaic eCards to their loved ones, family and/or colleagues.

Enjoy!

SEMNAR REVIEW — What's Fear Got To Do With It!

While the memory is still fresh and I am feeling so pumped and emotionally in tune...

I wanted to write my review of today's AnnieJenningsPR.com seminar with Controlling Fear Expert, Richard Flint.

What's FEAR Got To Do With It?
Steps To Control Your Fear So You Can Live The Life Of Your Dreams

Each and every one of us are dominated by our fears — some more than others. Some push right through and ignore them, while others are literally paralyzed by them.

Today's one-hour seminar with Richard Flint covered an enormous amount while doing an audience question and answer session. Richard covered the six-negative fears that each of us wrestle with somewhere in our lifetime, their definitions, why and how to deal with them.

  • Fear of the unknown
  • Fear of abandonment
  • Fear of rejection
  • Fear of failure
  • Fear of loss
  • Fear of success
The seminar covered too much to write about here, however...
At the end of the seminar Annie (bless her “generous” heart) said she would put the audio of today's seminar up on her site for everyone to either relisten to or listen to for the first time.

YOU ABSOLUTELY OWE IT TO YOURSELF... and anyone you know and/or love to have them listen to this phenomenal one-hour session on fears and how to handle them.

NOTE: IF you learn just one thing from listening to this seminar, your entire life could change as it would impact not only on you, but on everyone you come in contact with. A positive (or negative) change in one's behavior could be the ticket to a life-altering event. (Can you afford not to listen to this seminar! I can't! It's Free, so what do you have to lose!)

Keep your eye on Annie's site for the audio upload:

What's Fear Got To Do With It? Fear has proven to be the second largest challenge people consistently face with the number 1 fear being **confusion** in their life. What many don't understand is the confusion feeds their fear and the fear gets tangled up in the emotions surrounding their fear. This creates a draining circle of sameness for them. That draining will not go away until they slow down and face the fear that is holding them hostage. Controlling fear expert, Richard Flint, discusses six major negative fears that people wrestle with. Each has a different psychological affect on their life.

Richard Flint addresses important issues such as:

  • how do we know if we have a fear of success that keeps us from being successful, and
  • how does this fear manifest in us
  • How do we know if fear of rejection, of loss or of the unknown is getting in our way?
Richard discusses behavior patterns to help you identify the fear or fears that are holding you back. Join us in this life-changing teleseminar and learn how to control your fear so you can move on and bring mega success into your life.

Kodak — FREE Tech Support

One of the truly phenomenal things I enjoy most about my Kodak Digital Camera is the “totally free” Tech Support and guidance I receive from Kodak when I call.

  • Free toll-free number
  • Free help
  • Do not get rushed off the line
  • Most of all, their Tech Support is offered FROM the USA
  • they
NOTE: Sometimes we forget... Tech support is something to think about when buying a camera or any product. Now-a-days once you fork over your money it is not always a good experience WHEN problems arise or we have what could be considered a little question. Little questions become “major” issues when there is no help around or help is not easy to reach.

Review: Seminar - Write a Book in 7-10 Days

After attending the one-hour seminar at Annie Jennings PR... “How To Write A Book In 3-10 Days (Even If You Can't Type)” With Featured Expert, Michele Blood I've become a believer.

Michele's enthusiasm was non-stop and she spent a complete hour sharing her techniques and secrets for success with the teleseminar attendees. It was one of the most exciting phone seminars I have attended to date!

BETWEEN YOU AND I... When I first attended the seminar I did not think it even related to me, but was I in for a surprise!

Michele broke down the techniques for writing a book in 3-10 days into a series of questions. The questions formed the outline for the book. Once you went back and answered the questions you had something substantial to work with — that could always be changed or embellished later on.

She suggested that we design a group of questions for each category in our Table of Contents and then have a trusted friend or associate interview us using the set of questions — while running a tape to get all the goodies being shared. The point for this is so that we could transcribe it as a friendly conversation you would then be having with the reader instead of stiff matter of fact verbiage.

She was right on when she suggested that we have someone else transcribe the taped notes cause if we did it ourselves we would get drawn into “editing as we went along!* IMHO (in my humble opinion) transcribing the tape yourself is a recipe for failure as I know... whenever I write something I edit, and re-edit and re-edit some more. On the other hand... IF you don't have anyone to transcribe for you, YOU CAN transcribe it yourself, but you MUST remember... JUST TRANSCRIBE... DO NOT edit! (Even writing this here... I wonder if that is as easy as it sounds. BUT... I also know, when I want something and set my mind to it, I CAN follow specific instructions and keep on the straight and narrow.)

Michele touched on Non-Fiction, Fiction, Self Publishing, etc. Check out her website at: http://www.musivation.com/

AND... Stay tuned for my new eBook! (Well, it could happen... I've been thinking about it for quite some time! I just can't find the time to sit still long enough! After Michele's teleseminar who knows!)

Check out Annie's next seminar at: http://www.anniejenningspr.com/telesemnars/ you can't afford not to! The seminars are FREE. Aren't you worth an hour of fun and education. It's free, what are you waiting for!

Visual QuickProject Guides — Peachpit Does It Again?

Peachpit Press — Does It Again! Most of us are familiar with the Peachpit Press “Visual QuickStart Guides.”

If you can believe it... They have made learning “even easier and quicker” with their new "Visual QuickProject Guide" series.

“Visual QuickProject Guides” are small in size (usually less than 150 pages) and concentrate on one project — from start to finish. The guide includes:

  • easy to read large print
  • a Table of Contents broken down by project categories
  • an Index broken down by keywords
  • step-by-step numbered instructions
  • generous assortment of large colorful screen shots
The guide is small enough and light enough to be placed in an attache case, handbag or tote — to be taken with you and read away from the computer (perhaps while riding the bus or waiting at the doctor's office or standing on the horribly-long bank lines).

This series is a revelation at best in making the learning process a breeze. The Guides concentrate on teaching a particular project instead of teaching the entire program. Even if you are proficient with a program, but not a particular feature of it, these books will help.

The time it would take to learn how to complete the project depends on the reader's starting skill level and enthusiasm for completion.
To top it off, each book is affordably priced — at $12.99 undiscounted.

Below is a listing of all QuickProject Guides available to date:
YOU “ABSOLUTELY” OWE IT TO YOURSELF... to look at these books the next time you are at your local bookstore. If you are like me you want to get the job done before you start. These are the books that will help you do it.

Enjoy!

TeleSeminars... What / How?

TeleSeminars are just what the name implies... Telephone Seminars.

TeleSeminars provide a means to attend a seminar/networking event from the comfort of your home, office or nearest part bench. All you need is — working — telephone to attend.

TeleSeminars link people from all over the country/world to a single event at a given time of day or night.

TeleSeminars come in various flavors, free, pay, membership, etc.

  • Free TeleSeminars — could be toll-free number
  • Free TeleSeminars — could be toll number and free seminar
  • Pay TeleSeminars — could be toll-free number and pay seminar
  • Pay TeleSeminars — could be toll number and pay seminar
  • Membership TeleSeminars — could be membership in a club or organization which includes TeleSeminars as one of the features
Whatever the variation, I find TeleSeminars the way to go. Although I have often wished for longer, most are one-hour long. Some will include a free or pay CD or download of the seminar and/or other special offers to attendees. This is not the norm on all and all Teleseminar providers make their own rules about this.

On the other hand TeleSeminars do not provide the opportunity of face-to-face personal networking, although if you get there early you may be able to chat with others on the line and get a few introductions in. After awhile, if you attend the same ones each week (same provider) you get to know people. It's a fun, inexpensive and easy way to learn, mingle and network.

IN SUMMARY

What I like best about TeleSeminars is:
  • I can attend where ever I am as long as I have a phone line.
  • They enable me to attend via phone where it would not be feasible to attend in person, even if, they were held in my own city.
    • Inconvenience of time
    • Expense of travel — in my case it could be hours of travel and schlepping around for a “one-hour” seminar at a really early hour
NOTE: Keep checking Blog Views By Roz for my Favorite TeleSeminars.

Digital Life NYC

Digital Life NYC made it's debut this past week/weekend at the Jacob Javits Convention Center.

Check back for my review.

I spent two days there and had a fabulous time. It was the best show I attended in a very long time. The energy and enthusiasm was contagious and the exhibitors, demonstrations and knowledge were phenomenal. I did not meet one person, including myself, who was not having a fantastic time!

Lots of goodies and prizes were given away on a continual basis. It was almost like times of old. Such generosity has not been seen in many years.

Right now I am off to get some rest. I walked enough for the next year. However, Photo Plus East is coming in five days, AND... Here I go again!

Stay tuned!

JibJab — Brothers At It Again!

I just visited the JibJab website and have to say it's the first thing that made me smile all weekend. The problem is, I can't stop smiling, I feel as if my face will freeze! Or... freeze and crack, or just crack! Ah heck! It's great, and anyone who can bring that much joy deserves the recognition!

In case you do not know who I am talking about, these are the two brothers — Gregg and Evan Spiridells — who did the Internet film “This Land.” Now you must have seen it, it was all over TV and Gregg and Evan appeared on the Jay Leno show! The film is a riot. AND... they seemed like the nicest guys!

You still do not know who or what I am talking about, ok... I'll bite! Go over to JibJab and click to view “This Land!” After you do that, view the new flick: “Good To Be In DC!” (I am not linking to the films as I want you to go over and view the site. It's worth the trip!

Good luck Greg and Evan! I am thrilled to see that you are charging for your talents. I pray that you make it as big as you want to. You two guy have the talent and should be able to live the American Dream!

Growing up at 60!

I took Friday off — the computer — to just rest, think, regroup and do some much needed reorganizing... and cleaning! However, if you were here and looked around... It does not look like I did much. But... in reality I went to sleep a happy camper, feeling as if I had been productive in the day's challenges!

What's always nice about cleaning is that I feel like I am on a treasure hunt. I find things that I misplaced and/or have not seen in a great while. Actually these treasures were just hiding — or temporarily buried — under piles of papers and books. It is always a revelation and I feel as if I were just handed a priceless gift!

It seems the older I get the less time I take for myself. I do not mean to do this, it just is and I AM NOT happy with it! As you can see... Something is wrong with this picture... AND... I am the ONLY one who can change it! It's a daily challenge, and one I feel I am winning.

Believe it or not... “I feel like I am growing up at 60!”

This course will walk you through installing, configuring and customizing Movable Type on your computer, and provide instructions for installing it in a hosted environment. There will be a couple interesting projects, and lots of in-depth tutorials for making your Movable Type Blog your own. By the end of class, you should have a Blog, a link log, know how to use Template Tags to customize your Blog, and know how to use third-party tools and some interesting plug-ins to add other kinds of content to your Blog.

Prerequisites: To get the most out of this course, you should have a working knowledge of HTML and your operating system. If you're going to be installing Movable Type on a public web site, you'll also need to know how to use an FTP program, and know your hosting environment (if it meets the requirements for Movable Type, and where you'll need to upload scripts).

See you there!

PRWeb.com — Best Kept Secret

I attended one of those famous Annie Jennings PR teleseminars last week with David McInnis from http://www.PRWeb.com. As usual the seminar was jam-packed with lots of good information.

To listen to the seminar go here.

Choose... Maximize Your Wire Services Distribution with PR Web’s David McInnis -- and click to listen/and or download.

One of the pearls of wisdom you will hear is that...

When you donate as little as $10.00 you can go back into the press release — before it is sent out — and choose “up to 9 more” categories for it to be sent out to! This gives you at least 10 times the exposure you would get from a free press release.

Of course... the more you donate, the better chance you have, but this is certainly something to think about... as an alternative!

FREE Teleseminar — Create Emotionally Connected Websites

As an aside: This is one seminar I do not want to miss. My own eCard Club runs on emotion. Mine... when I create the cards... My Members... when they choose and send them!

Annie Jennings PR does it again. Learn

How To Create Websites That Emotionally Connect With Your Visitors... with Website Strategy Expert, Philippa Gamse.

"People buy emotionally, not intellectually" says web design expert, Philippa Gamse.

Join us for this fabulous teleseminar and learn how to create Websites that reach your visitors emotionally. Many Websites fail to create the crucial emotional connections with their visitors which can significantly enhance their response, sales, customer retention and ongoing return on investment.

In this HOT TOPIC teleseminar, Philippa shares the five critical emotions for creating and sustaining productive on-line relationships, tools and techniques for making these emotional connections on any Website and key tips to avoid destroying or diluting the connection.

Whether you’re putting up a Website for the first time or have been on-line since the beginning and no matter how large or small your business is, you'll pick up practical advice that you can put to use at once. Philippa Gamse helps companies, associations and nonprofit organizations to maximize their return on investment in their on-line presence. What A Difference A Walk Makes

Eighteen Months ago I started working with the Anthony Robbins program “Get The Edge.” One of the rituals I adopted was walking daily — preferably in the morning. Tony suggested upon rising, but that took a bit to get used to!

At first, I walked at all hours, but I found the morning was really the best! It not only started my day off “with the success” of doing something good FOR ME, it also enabled me to walk and “not” be interrupted. You do not meet many people in the morning, and if you do, they are usually there for the same reason — you just say hello and keep going!

While walking not only helped me get rid of the 20 pounds I gained after 911, it also enables me to be more “in touch with me, my feeling, creativity and nature!” A revelation for someone who never walked and drove all over! (I sold my car almost two years ago and had not used it much for the five years before! But... I was so connected to my computer, I hardly left it!)

The best part of walking is that my creative juices run wild. Something I had not experienced before. There is never a time I go walking and do not come back with a few good ideas — at the least one. When I am really stressed I find that by the time I come back from my walk I am as relaxed as a dish rag.

I now love to walk and make it my business to go at least five days a week (Monday thru Friday). Saturday and/or Sunday are “plus days!”

In summary, the added bonuses to walking are:

  • Walking feels great
  • Walking is good exercise
  • Walking gets my creative juices flowing
  • Walking creates energy
  • Walking is good for my heart
  • Walking is good for me in general
Can you tell... I'm inspired... I just came back from a walk!

QVC — Anthony Robbins (Oct. 11-12)

Anthony Robbins will appear live on QVC:

  • Monday, October 11, 2004 at 7PM EST
  • Tuesday, October 12, 2004 at 1AM EST
  • Tuesday, October 12, 2004 at 10PM EST
I am always eager to let people know when Tony will be live on QVC as they have an opportunity to hear him live, ask him questions, hear what others have to say and order his “Get The Edge” program on an extended payment plan.

I have personally been working with the Anthony Robbins programs since June 2003. To me... it was/is like being pulled back from the dead. After 911, like many... I lost myself and through Tony's encouragement and support I have regained an even better, more energetic outgoing me — far better than the old Roz of years ago. He taught me to value myself and have the confidence and courage to follow my dreams and not listen to the nay sayers. I finally realized... I HAD MORE TO LOSE... IF... I DID NOT try!

He taught me that as long as I learned from my efforts I was not failing. I was just getting educated in what did not work and I could now try something different! You have no idea what a boost in self esteem this way of thinking can be! For this I will be ever grateful!

Tony taught me to focus on the many blessings I am lucky enough to have and not dwell on the things that I do not have. IF... I am grateful for what I do have, it will be easier to reach for those things that I want for myself and in my life.

He taught me that when we are grateful WE ARE NOT fearful! While this way of thinking may be simple and fundamental to many, it was not for me! AND... it actually works!

I remember -- quite vividly -- how I felt before I started “Get The Edge” last June. I NEVER want to go back there! I want others to feel as I do today and that is why I encourage everyone to try his programs. They are not rocket science, but sometimes we need someone who is not close to us to help!

Before Tony... Everyone told me what I should do and then left me to my own devices. BUT... NO ONE... told me how to do it... UNTIL I met Tony Robbins!

In the last two weeks I took this to the next level and started to journal each morning, asking myself these five questions:

  • What am I grateful for today?
  • What am I proud of today?
  • What am I excited about today?
  • What can I do to make a difference in someone else's life today?
  • What can I do to enhance my own business today?

Writing down the questions and answers each morning is far more tangible in enabling me to hold myself more accountable -- “to me!” If you are not in the habit of keeping a journal all this writing takes a bit of getting used to, but after about a week, it becomes second nature and a pleasant habit!

I ask you... “How can a person not be grateful!”
